Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 527279), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term basis or two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should have an EdD or PhD in Nursing, Social Sciences, Public/Global Health or related disciplines, and a specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent, with at least 15 years of relevant teaching experience. They should be highly conversant in contemporary issues in health education, competent in case-based and problem-based teaching pedagogy, and able to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. High proficiency in Cantonese and English, enthusiasm in teaching, and good mentoring skills are essential. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching at managerial level of public health practitioner. A portfolio of programme administration, curriculum design and delivery, production of teaching materials, supervision of teaching practice, quality assurance, and /or student supervision is highly preferred. Experience of being registered nurse would be also an advantage. Applicants with less relevant teaching experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Lecturer or Lecturer.

The appointee will be responsible for coordinating, administering and teaching at nursing leadership training programme. The appointee is expected to contribute to the teaching of medical, public health and global health /development courses to senior nursing management and emerging nursing leaders. In addition, the appointee is expected to support the School’s knowledge exchange and community engagement efforts, and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. Housing benefits will be provided to Principal Lecturer and Senior Lecturer as applicable.
