Your personal sphere of influence:
The Institute of Physiological Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry is seeking to fill a § 99 (1) Professorship for Biomolecular & Integrative Physiology, for 6 months, part-time, 8 hours per week, as soon as possible and limited until max. 31.03.2025 (for the duration of the absence of a member of the Institute).
The focus of the professorship is in the field of biomolecular integrative physiology with reference to the molecular interaction between chemosensors and food-relevant stimuli and their metabolic effects. You will have an international visibility with successful publications and third-party funding. We would also like you to participate in research networks of the Faculty of Chemistry and the University of Vienna and expect a high willingness to integrate into interdisciplinary clinical and scientific networks of the faculty.
The tasks of the professorship include the professional representation of biomolecular and integrative physiology in teaching and research. We look forward to your involvement in teaching and in the implementation of innovative teaching concepts in the fields of physiological and biomolecular effects of food and its ingredients.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in teaching, research & administration, which means:
- Participation in research projects and scientific studies in the field of molecular interaction between chemosensors and food-related stimuli with a focus on metabolic effects
- International publications and lectures
- Independent teaching of courses in accordance with the collective agreement
- Participation in administrative tasks in research and teaching
This is part of your personality:
- Doctorate/PhD and at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience at a university or other research institution
- A relevant habilitation (venia docendi) or an internationally recognized equivalent qualification is desirable
- Outstanding achievements in research, excellent publication record, international reputation and successful acquisition of third-party funding in the area of focus
- Proven leadership qualities
- Experience in the conception, acquisition and management of major research projects
- Strong communication skills that promote interdisciplinary collaboration
- Enthusiasm for excellent teaching, university teaching experience as well as the ability and willingness to teach at all curricular levels (Bachelor's, Master's, doctorate), supervise theses and promote young academics
