The Position

The position is located at Siding Spring Observatory (SSO), which is one of two key sites for the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA) in Australia. The site sits at the summit of Mt Woorut, NSW, and is set within the stunning National Heritage Listed Warrumbungle National Park, around 30 kilometres from the town of Coonabarabran, NSW.

The Operations Technician will provide technical support for the set-up of instruments for visiting scientists and ensure instruments are maintained and available for use on the telescopes. They will be expected to maintain a high level of awareness of current technologies in instrumentation.
